Rick Wickstrom, PT, DPT, CPE, CDMS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Professional Ergonomist, and Certified Disability Management Specialist. He earned his bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from the Ohio State University and completed Ph.D. coursework in Occupational Ergonomics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. As President and owner of WorkAbility Systems and WorkAbility Network, Dr. Wickstrom has been a consultant in the field of occupational health and ergonomics for over 20 years. He has published many articles and technical papers related to functional capacity evaluation, work disability prevention and ergonomics. He serves as an expert witness on matters concerning physical disability, fitness-for-duty or job accommodation. His diverse clinical practice includes transitional work-site therapy, functional capacity evaluation, worker accommodation studies, ergonomic job analysis, development of worker fitness screening and transitional work programs, systems development, research, and training. He has several inventions to his credit, including the patented Physical Agility Tester, PAT Total-Body Dexterity Tester, Adjustable Pull Strap Attachment, Ergo-Totes Set and PAT Agility Mat. Dr. Wickstrom has dedicated his career and the resources of WorkAbility Network and Systems to preparing occupational health professionals such as physical therapists with the skills and tools needed to assess functional job demands, evaluate worker fitness, and motivate successful transitions from work performance barriers to self-directed, physical wellness programs.
Frank Gargano, PT, DPT, OCS, CWT, MCTA graduated from Ohio University in 1990 with dual degrees in Physical Therapy and Biological Sciences. In 1999 he became Board Certified in Orthopedics through the American Physical Therapy Association; in 2002 he received his clinical doctorate in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. He is one of thirty-nine people in the world certified to teach Brian Mulligan's manual therapy concept Mobilization with Movement. He is an international board member and Chief Financial Officer for the Mulligan Concept Teacher's Association. Dr. Gargano is a national speaker on orthopedic topics and provides advanced educational seminars across the country. He is active in clinical research with a specialty interest in cervical spine disorders as they relate to headaches, dizziness and pain. He developed a continuing education seminar entitled "The Upper Cervical Spine in Headaches, Dizziness and Pain; "A Neuro-Orthopedic Perspective" that he instructs throughout the United States. In 2004 he was the recipient of the award for outstanding clinical excellence in recognition of his contribution to the practice of Physical Therapy. In 1994, Dr. Gargano opened Rehabilitex Inc., a private practice orthopedic clinic in Solon, Ohio. He serves as an expert witness for medical-legal case review in the area of rehabilitation.
